How is going Pleasantville - Part 03 - Some old friends, some weddings and a lot of cake

Let's start this update with Brandi Broke. She lives in a small trailer, she have two kids and a bugged pregnancy. I tried to fix her pregnancy but I believe I failed. The kid looks like her too much to not be a clone of her.

I tried to make her have a kid from her deceased husband  and now I have 2 duplicated sims in my hood in the default family with red icons. That's bad, is too soon to start to destroy the hood yet. But I had to try, I was curious.

Speaking in bugs we had a lovely bug when Brandon, this third kid, was a toddler...

I never remember their names, the middle boy went to the school with Brandon attached. No harmed done and this is a bug that pleases me, they look cute together.

Brenda started a failed small home business that didn't improved her financial condition but helped her to find true love. The guy is called Mateus Silva and there is a small age gap but I liked the couple so much that I decided to improve their life and marry both. I moved them to Florence house, since she already had packed to move to Landgraab's mansion and promoted the wedding. A really nice wedding, in the garden.

I wonder if I ever will discover what I did wrong.

While I was testing wedding cakes I decided to promote the Picasso's wedding too. I never really paid attention to this couple but this time they have a job as my beta-testers. Remember Cyd and the testers team?

I wanted to make a wedding in a community lot and unfortunately Squinge's hack didn't worked for me, so I thought I could try to throw a wedding party and then go to a community lot and make the wedding there. It didn't work, I mean, the wedding at a community lot worked and, to my surprise, I could cut the cake there (what I most wanted to do) but the party was a phail because I started that at home and left home and didn't married at home. Anyway, don't try that at home.

But it was a beautiful wedding.

I can not distribute a cake that does that, specially without a warning. It made me laugh, I must admit. A lot. I mean, is like an old silent comedy movie.

After this I went to the Jacket's house. The bakery is working properly, as their flower shop. They are both very profitable and beautiful stores. I never had a bakery before, can you believe?

Gilbert got a girlfriend. I made one for him, her name is Jenna. I could not find a girl in the hood, not even with the hacked crystal ball.

Gladly, the couple got along really fast.

So now I need just one more wedding to test cakes and parties and then I'll be ready to promote Landgraab's wedding with Florence. I already have the "volunteers": Raina and Sky. Remember Raina and Sky? I've been nostalgic these days, I added back in my game Raina, Sky and Shakar, Arsene with their family, including their 3 kids, Nano, Sunshine and Rain. You'll see them soon.

The Day the Earth Stood Still

- Hey, Jan, this is Cyd.

"Cyd, I am so glad you called, there is something wrong! Did you noticed something weird at your house today?"

- I know babe, I know. The kid is using balloons with bad figures of speech.

"No, Cyd, something is really wrong!"

- You mean, the default clothes, default hairs, default eyes? Or maybe people running each five seconds to check the weather? It´s only temporary.

"Ohmy, Cyd, I am so terrified. I heard scary stories about test hoods that were wiped away all of sudden!"
- Well, it could be worst, this could be Simwardrobe´s test hood or Ricky´s challenge´s hood. Anyway, we are going to investigate, the Master will solve this issue and everything will return to normal, I am positive. This is a great opportunity, we should feel flattered.

"Cyd, what went wrong, do you have some of your 'special inside informations?"

- Well, yes.

- It seems the Master made some mistake while hex editing some lot and misterious big holes appear in Sinister Valley, at the playable hood. At first the Master thought they were big square mirrors, but, no, they were big holes.

"Oh, Cyd, darn playables, they are always messing our lifes."
- This is why we exist, Jan, we are the test team. If that makes you feel bad, remember Strangetown or Veronaville, that don´t exist anymore. Those guys never had a chance.

"Yes, you are right. So... there was a hole and?..."

- Those messed lots were ... well, disposed from the playable hood and things seems to return to normal... some guy lost a business lot and the Master was trying to fix the situation. It seems it was not fixable for some reason. The guy could not enter the business anymore, everything got stuck at the forever load screen.

"You are scaring me more, Cyd. This look ugly."
- I know! Then since that business didn´t worked the Master bought another business for those guys. Life goes on, just some lost lots... they just entered the lot and then, time stopped.

"What you mean, time stopped?"

- They froze, Jan, they completely froze. The timeclock froze, the movement, everything. They were there, not moving, unpaused and froze.

"This is serious, really serious."

- They went into debug mode, Jan, and then they got an astonishing error message.

"Like what?"

- Attribute Number out of range. From a default object, Jan, not CC one, a default Nightlife animated light.
"Oh... my... god...."

- But it´s ok, Jan, cause we have that fix to avoid the countess to bite Mrs. C, so the Master believe is not the infamous object package corruption. Must be something else. Maybe duplicated GUIDs.

"Then why the Master simply didn´t performed the dupplicated GUID search?"

- Because that will take longer, Jan and is inconclusive without tests. Also, it seems the guy who owns that lot is someone important at the playable hood. The Master was not feeling like want to mess with GUID searches and everything, but the guy kept breaking the 4th wall, like asking the Master to fix the situation. This is not usual, this means this guy must be someone really special to The Master.

"So, we are in mission because some playable guy breaks the 4th wall. Thank you, I am thrilled to know the reason of my possible death."

- Sort of, but mostly because the Master enjoys to see some other guy dancing with colorful lights.

"This sounds so... decadent."

- Lights are cool, Jan, did you ever saw those lights? I must take you to a dance club someday, you will love those lights.

"I was going to call you to make the default Nightlife invitation, but I was somehow interrupted."

- Sorry about that, I got a direct order to hang the phone. Well, we are going to check if the default object is causing the error, repeating the same experience at the same place. I will call you when we return, Jan, stay cool and remember, this is a big moment. It´s our chance to make the Master to like us more than simply testers, remember that.

- So, this is the place?

- Yeah, this is the test place.

- What is that? The Grilled Cheese club?

- Right now, it seems so.

- Man, this place is a mess! Let´s make this test and get out of here.

- See? It´s all ok with the lights, debug mode is on, no error messages.

- Must be some CC.

- Exactly, Mr. Watson.

- So, is this all fuzz is about? Do I look good under those lights?

- Ok, we can go now. Move along, move along, nothing to see here, is all over, go home.

- Sheesh, I can´t see what´s cool about a Grilled Cheese club filled with statues.

- Wait till you see this place with the real CC. You will find out.

- Jan, we are back. Everything went fine, reinstall is not required, isn´t great news? Yes, the Master is very pleased, now she will perform the GUID search. Next time we can go Downtown, thanks for this test, we have one now.

How is going Pleasantville - Part 02 - Bluewater, Florence and the Landgraab

My plan was to go to Bluewater and play the Jacquets, to make their bakery works but what I didn't know is that I had some issues to work around before I can reach them.

First, Bluewater. I'm not a particular fan of any EAxis hood but I believe while downtown is my fav one, Bluewater is my least fav because is a big everything and nothing at the same time. There is a rural area, but it's too small. There is a beach area, again, too small. I don't know what to do with Bluewater. So I decided to dedicate some time to make Bluewater really works this time.

Just as comparision, this is my downtown, already fixed:

I always add Plasticbox's urban houses and Marylou's, a small area with factories, lots of small business and small buildings. All small lots (1x2, 2x2, etc). They are very playable.

This is Sedona, another downtown subhood and always my fav one. Usually I fill Sedona with modern concrete houses, old wood houses, campings and trailer lots. Once, I made Sedona a whole japanese hood.
Sedona is more than a hood, is a whole imaginary world to me. Is where I put the four elements houses, as an example.

I put all those sims that were in the family bin (you know, the hindu guys, that ugly family with lots of kids and the old lady, etc) living in trailers there. I don't know yet what I'm going to do with this new version of Sedona.

And this is the renovated Bluewater. I kept the mix of rural area with beach areas and small town. There is one big mansion that took me a whole afternoon to find to the Landgraab guy.

I never use all houses that I add, they are there for aesthetics purposes.

It wasn't easy to fix Bluewater. Downtown is easy, nobody lives there, I usually put all lots down except for the useless but pretty small building that look like some sort of Empire State building, the Tricou's house, the parks and the cemetery. Bluewater have some sims living there and I had to go from house to house fixing things.

I stopped first at the Ramirez's house because he have a furniture store and I wanted to make sure that the place was properly working. I gave them makeovers and then I discovered myself imagining a whole new story to Checoleon.

He doesn't look bad. He have an interesting face. He could use a second wife, his wife Eliza is the most weird face ever produced by EAxis. I tried once to have more offsprings with them and the result was a disaster.

We could use... the corrupted-reporter-who-obviously-works-for-Lurk (I mean, look at her, she is wearing a Louis hair and a pink outfit, she obviously doesn't belong to my game but to Nocommente's game):

She looks like a top model. Where she found that face? I use a nice CAS default replacement and I was smart enough to install that before start the game for the first time but this is too much. She looks so... barbie, with her perfect tan.

Oh, we can totally use that and promote a torrid love affair with Checoleon Ramirez. Then I can promote a quick divorce, remove him from that annoying ugly house, put him to live in a small urban house with her and gave them, let's say, three kids.

Sounds like a plan.

While I was doing that, at least the first part, promoting a relationship between then, Florence appeared and Landgraab and her started to talk to each other and have some fun together at Checoleon's house as old friends.

Ohmy, this give me ideas also.

I love Florence. I only decently played her once. I always see her as a middle age lady who is very lonely and would like to find true love. I don't know if I invented this or got from her bio.
I went to check my old albuns and found a nice pic of her on her wedding day. She married a townie who was going everyday at her home-business-flower-shop. A very ugly townie with a pointy nose (what I do to my sims??).

Nice hat. I remember she choose herself when I was sending her to the mirror to try tiaras and flowers.
Well, I have better plans this time. I still see her as a middle age lady who is very lonely (I hate her house with all my heart) and would like to find true love. Well, guess what, Florence?

So, I was planning to play the Jacquets and make the bakery and ended playing Landgraab and making his business works. I thought it would be simple. It was everything but simple. Just to find the perfect house to Mr. Millionaire took me hours browsing MTS2. I hated everything or they were all too big to my old computer, I can't manage too big lots. I finally found a perfect one, it came all beautifully decorated, I had to change a thing or two and even have family portraits in the main room.

Then, Landgraab's original business was an ugly electronic store (I don't want my sims walking around with boomboxes on their inventories) so we had to change that. I bought to him some random business and we had to visit one by one.  In the middle of this business adventure, he had his first date with Florence that started with them at his house and ended in a restaurant. They had time enough to whoohoo twice on his car (he is so adolescent, isn't he?) and he quickly wanted to propose her. She was wanting too, she scored as many points as he did.

The relationship point was solved but the business wasn't. I discovered that I have an annoying problem from hell: some hack compatibility issue for sure. The cooker doesn't cook.

Never. He simply doesn't go to that industrial oven and keep cooking as a lunatic, as expected. This means that something is preventing him to do this because it worked when I sent Landgraab to cook.

Landgraab is very eficient as a business owner. He can sell, he can restock, he can cook, serve tables, all by himself running as a crazy. I wonder if this is a game feature or a hack feature. I must test now because the cook must work.

We had a very profitable day with all business doing well.

How is going Pleasantville - Part 01 - The Goths

So, first when I installed the game I was playing with Desiderata. Unfortunately I was annoyed by the townies and tried to edit Desiderata to get rid of them. I did something wrong. Desiderata no more.

So, I'm playing Pleasantville while I'm organizing my downloads. I want to cut part of them because my game was too slow. I'm adding them back in groups and making some maitenance, deleting stuff, recategorizing, etc. I already have 7943 downloads installed (according Delphy's download organizer) and we didn't even started, I just added hairs, hacks and clothes!

Anyway, first a quick glance at the Goths.

I decided to give a more romantic look to Mortimer this time. I love the locks. Bella is already resurrected and joined the family. We had a nice nocturnal wedding with only some friends and family.

Unfortunately she didn't enjoyed the cake because she was already pregnant. It's humiliating, I know.

We have two girls so far: Amanda and Cordelia.

Cassie continues the same happy and lovely person she ever was. She is my fav EAxis sim.

She got married this time with a very reluctant Don Lothario. I did something wrong and they supposed to be called the Lothario family but I fixed with Simpe and now they are part of the Goths.

Both the new couples started to have their heirs.

There was a minor issue in my geneticized skins. But it's fine, is something you barely noticed.

As Garcia Marquez says, is better be ready to raise iguanas when you marry. I love both my babies, I love to have tons of simbabies in this game.

So I moved Cassie, Don and their son to another house before Don's reputation and the long history of him (with Bella included) cause some problems.

Okay, I went to my game to take some snapshots of the Goth's girls and discovered that the Goth's manor was doomed. I don't know what happened, it was crashing to the desktop. So I moved the family, evicted the old house and gave them a new home, called Georgian Peach.
