The planet is always hot and dry. Hot and dry. Iwa is not bothered by the weather, she had spent her days working hard and daydreaming.



Wolfram just got permission to move to Iwa's camp and marry her. He feels an expectant hush to go to talk to her. He have everything set to move, he already got a roomate who is going to take his place and already packed his things.



The new guy, Zaren (by courtney_shea) is a nice guy. They quickly became friends. It was nice to Wolfram, always alone, to have a joyful company for a change. He wasn't used to that. He enjoyed. It could have been nice to have a good friend in all his lonely time at Aridia. Well, at least now he have one.

Wolfram invites Iwa to a snack to tell her the good news. He really enjoy her company, she is bright as the sun, making his heart jump in happyness.



He tells her the news and, very embarrassed, confesses his affection. She looked delighted and surprised.



It's the first time that Wolfram kisses a girl. He doesn't know but it's Iwa's first time too. She will tell him later. She is too happy and don't want to interrupt this moment with silly thoughts.



She is surprised with herself. She is enjoying his affection more than she thought that she would. Suddenly, he looks more handsome than ever. She can see a special beauty on him that she didn't noticed before.



While Iwa waits till the next day, when Wolfram will move in, she harvests her first crop of tomatoes. The poor vegetables are not shiny nor juicy because of the excessive heat but she is happy. They are the product of days of hard work, she feels proud of herself. She can't sell such ugly produce but she can make some nice fresh salads to her betrothed's breakfast.



Wolfram moves in and bring very few things with him. Iwa is fascinated with his habit to take tea, even in that hot weather. He teaches her to savor the herbs infusion, something she never imagined before. It smells like sweet flowers, she likes it.



Her beloved one is a great help. He decides to quit his job to dedicate himself to help Iwa to build their still very poor place. Iwa must keep working to try to get a better crop. They don't have many possessions nor much money but Wolfram doesn't seem to care. He works hard.



He bought a wrecked car with his eyes shining like a little boy - “We can fix this and use.” - he says with a smile. It's all good to Iwa, she is happy to see him happy.



Their moments together are getting more and more intense. Iwa wants to ask him when they are going to marry but she is afraid to hurt his feelings. She cares about him. Wolfram doesn't seems to be in a hurry.



A couple of days later, he finally pops the question. Iwa is thrilled.



The Administrative Office offers to them a simple but nice wedding ceremony and reception. Considering how short of money they are, it's a blessing.







They are finally husband and wife.



The night is full of stars and fireworks.





Iwa makes the nice salad she planned to Wolfram's first breakfast as her husband. He doesn't know that she grew those vegetables by herself and she mentions that in a very casual manner. They are not so great anyway. Wolfram smiles and says that he never tasted anything so good in his whole life. Iwa smiles.



Wolfram is too shy to say, but he feels happy as never before.



It's a long hot summer.



They need a lot of things and they really don't know where to start. A real bedroom would be the best choice, maybe, but Iwa wants another fruit tree and trees are expensive. Wolfram is working hard everyday digging up to find good things to sell but he is unlucky, he only finds bones and stones. Iwa dreams with a greenhouse. They need at least 5000 simoleans to build one. They restless work.



Wolfram keeps working in the wrecked car when he can. He wants to take Iwa to a ride. She said she has never been on a car before.



Iwa invites Ogi and Nive (by simsforaranya) to a casual dinner. They don't really know Wolfram yet and she wants them to become friends. Wolfram feels a little uncomfortable with them. It has been a long time since he had a family, the situation is a litle awckward but deep inside, he feels happy. It's nice to have this nice people as family.



They are having a really hard summer. The plants are not growing well and both Iwa and Wolfram are overheating. It doesn't help the fact that they are living in an open camp. A house would be more than welcome but still seems to be a distant dream but at least they managed to have a small pond to start to fish. Iwa is trying to be strong as much as she can and Wolfram never complains.



Iwa finally breaks down. The heat is too much to her.



And when finally it rains, her condition just got worse. She is hit by a lightning and have an emotional meltdown. She desperatly wants a baby, to complete her small family.



The crop is ruined by the heat an the tempest. Wolfram tries to cheer up his wife - “It doesn't matter. We're together” - he says.
Iwa have good news to him: she is pregnant. Wolfram hugs and kiss her tenderly.



He asks Iwa to get some rest and works in the field alone with all his strenght.



It's a warm night in the end of the summer. Spring is coming. Iwa can sense the small life moving inside of her and feels a blissfull happiness.



They can make it, she thinks. They can.

Notes:

The weather: I'm not playing with winter because it doesn't make sense to have snow in the desert but as compensation the excessive constant heat really ruins the crops and the trees – and the sims health. So, I think it's a tie.

The footsie playing: I get the idea of “footsie playing under the table” from my dear friend whisper_doll, so full credits to her. It's really a cute idea.

I'm not used anymore to play in the “game default style”, I'm having a hard time playing them. My sims usually inherit a lot of money from “Mother Lode” and I never build houses, I download them. This challenge is being a real challenge to me but I'm enjoying immensely.
