Finally the day arrived! LandGraab and Florence woke up early in the morning because they would have a long day ahead.
LandGraab looked very happy and excited.
Florence was quite worried about the time. The wedding was scheduled for the afternoon because they had set that they would go to the City Hall to sign the official papers in the morning but even so, Florence didn't wanted to be late.
LandGraab really didn't looked worried at all. He was humming his favorite aria in the bathroom (yes, it's 7 AM and there is a glass of wine on the counter, I'm starting to think that LandGraab have a drinking problem).
Finally Florence lost the patience and called him, telling him to hurry up.
They were early. There was no really rush.
They went to the city hall at downtown. It would be quick and then they would return to the mansion to prepare themselves for the wedding ceremony and the party (yes, that's a different car, LandGraab have several of them).
They both seemed really happy.
It's interesting how these simple moments are sometimes even more remarkable than the big ones. They were husband and wife right there, in that impersonal and not so pretty place. They went down the stairs in the big building hugging and kissing like teenagers.
Apparently the old lady didn't approved affection demonstrations in public.
Then Florence's cellphone ringed. It was Don Lothario with bad news: Bella Goth had a stroke last night, just after the play, and died. The funeral service would be that morning, the family hadn't called many persons, just the closest friends and Florence was on the list, as one of the Mortimer's closest friends. Florence was shocked. Bella was just fine in the last night.
They stopped by the mansion to change clothes (Florence really didn't wanted to go to a sudden funeral dressed in her wedding attire). The small ceremony was being held at the Goth's Chapel and Cemetery.
Everybody was just sad and shocked, specially Cassie, Alexander and Mortimer. It was the second time that they had lost Bella, she disappeared for years when Cassie and Alexander were kids. This time they thought that she wouldn't leave them.
It was a very simple service but very emotional, specially when Mortimer broke in tears (don't look at me, he cried by himself, I had nothing to do with this, I just took the pic. I wasn't really expecting because I could not respawn Bella's tombstone so she was not really there, I think it was just a memory of her that stroke him, one of the reasons why I love this game so much) and when Amanda, his younger daughter hugged him trying to comfort him.
It was really a beautiful day for a wedding and a funeral. The sun made the ceremony more melancholic. It's autumn in the Goth's household.
I thought it would be nice to add a personal touch to this funeral so I downloaded the Bella & Mortimer snowball at MTS2.
I remember when I first saw this delicate object that I found it very poignant.
Florence was really worried with her friend but...
... he told her that he would be fine, that she would go to take care of her big day.
Next:
Finally the moment that everybody was waiting for!
And:
LandGraab is a sweet husband... and I still need to fix some-sort-of-Europe.
Stay tuned...
