Lots of emotions in this installment! I almost lost Shakti!!
We were living some nice and calm summer days. We had lots of fuits, some of them in good quality.
Teizo finished decorating the train-toy.
Shakti finished his romance and got about 2700 simoleons. This was great because they were short on money. The fruits were very welcome also for the same reason, I can restock their fridge with fresh produce. I was thinking in send Teizo to fish in one of the big parks at downtown but we were too busy raising Robin while taking care of the house, developing skills and hobbies.
An "aww" moment:
I opted to use this baby-math (I believe is from Simlogical) because toddlers can crawl so they can go to sleep and wake up and go to play by themselves. I wasn't sure if that would be considered "cheat" since the rest of the parenting job is still the same, feed him, bathe him, potty training, etc and he is in the second story of the small building so he really can't go anywhere because of the stairs.
He was always complaining.
Another "awww" moment: Shakti just woke up and was on his way to eat something and Robin "called his attention". I'm used that when toddlers does that they ask for bottles but it wasn't what Robin wanted, he wanted to be "nestled" (I'm unsure about the translation, makes sense?) and Shakti gave him what he wanted and Robin got some wants points.
I never saw this happening autonomously, it was completely unexpected to me. <3
Mommy-plant is a good mommy during the day...
Daddy-vampire is a good daddy during the night.
Teizo got/found an apple sculpture while he was "in a walk" and I was amused with this. Now the sculpture is part of the trash-pile.
And then the game warned me that Robin's birthday was about to happen. Poor Robin, he got a pair of points playing with his toys and didn't even finished the potty training! But since I always sent Teizo to make him use the potty we managed to finish at least this. He will be a child who learned very few things, unfortunately.
I solved two problems that were bothering me: with simple wants like send Teizo to walk, play games in the computer, fix the trashed car, play with the remote control car, I managed to make Teizo go gold and he could drink some elixir of life (Shakti have much more aspirations points than him because he have several knowledgement wants that gives him 2500, 3500 points each time). I was worried because Teizo was quickly becoming a middle age plantsim and I want him to live more (since Shakti is eternal unless he does something stupid), I want him as an adult till Robin grows. My plan is to spore a plantsim-baby when Robin reach his teenagers years, close to become an adult. Since this is a challenge, I'm not going to send Robin to Uni. I have different plans. But you'll see, I don't want to spoil everything.
I also put some sunligh lamps in all rooms that Teizo uses and in the first floor, in the "garage". These lamps can be bought with the garden stuff in building mode and they really works. Teizo had no more lack of sunlight issues after that.
I decided to throw a little birthday party with friends but this needed to be done during the day because the kids grows up at 6 PM so it couldn't be a nocturnal party. Unfortunately, Shakti would have to miss the party.
I invited their few friends and I was happy that all of them attended the party: Stephan, his wife Alice, his eldest son Tairo, Brenda Broke (very pregnant) and Lucy Burb.
We had a chocolate cake, looks very yummi.
And here is Robin, all grown up. He resembles Shakti, he have his eyes! (considering that all my eyes are geneticized, this was a surprise, I was expecting a different eye color). And his face shape is very similar to Teizo's. He is such a pretty boy, he is going to be a beautiful man when he grows up. <3
And then, since I wasn't paying attention, Shakti did something stupid.
Do you see the smoke? It's the middle of the afternoon, your silly vampire! I think he wanted badly to party with his family and have a piece of cake, because he immediately helped himself with a slice while abundantly smoking.
He is not aware but he is dying. I've seen happen several times. All they motivemeters drop to red and they vanish in thin air.
So I paused the game to save him. I had to cancel the cake action and send him back to his coffin as fast as I could before he burn. Cancel an eating action is annoying, as you know. It takes forever to the sim drop the plate and move in a different direction. I finally managed to send him to inside the building but that didn't helped (as I expected) because once the vampire starts the dying process is really hard to stop, only the coffin can save them. And then, his coffin wasn't working, I could not click in the coffin! I tried to grab the coffin, sell and buy a new one (because it was possible that we had a bug) and discovered that Robin sneaked to Shakti's room and was sleeping in the coffin. So Shakti had to wait, on his room, still smoking and with the motivemeters dropping red while Robin get out of the coffin. Oh, the agony! Even after Shakti finally enter the coffin I wasn't sure if I had lost him. He didn't wanted to stay in the coffin because his bladder motive was completely red. Send him to the bathroom wasn't an option because of the windows. I finished adding a toilet temporarily at his room to help him and then I sent him back to the coffin. Then he was too hungry.
So I had to move the fridge to his room so he could have a snack. And he was too sleepy to eat. Well, after many comes and goes I finally managed to sent him back to his coffin and he calmed down.
It took almost 2 sim-days to him return to normal. I ended building a wall with a door in the middle of his room and locking the door so only he can access his coffin.
After all this mess, Teizo saved a slice of cake to him so he could enjoy his son's birthday cake later, safe in the nighttime.
Meanwhile... oh, look what we got here!
A magic lamp!
Stay tuned...
